Who I Am In Christ

We live in a world that is so negative that I often feel that I need to go home and take a shower some days to get the negativity off of me. Just because we are Christians doesn’t mean that we are exempt from the influences of the world. We may be saved, sanctified and heaven bound, but still be influenced by the things around us. In Philippians 4:8 is the solution to these troubling thoughts if we will just apply it. It says:

Philippians 4:8-NKJV-Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.-

None of us is perfect and the enemy, the devil, and people remind us of that everyday and it can become easy to buy into their negative thoughts and forget who we are and what our heavenly Father says about us.

I have heard it said that we have to hear six positive thoughts to cancel one negative one. Remember who your are in Christ and Whom you belong to. It does not matter what education some one has, how much money they have, who they know or don’t know. If what they say about you doesn’t line up with what the Word says about you then they are wrong. Daily remind yourself what God says about you and profess His promises over you.

Remind the devil and people that you are a child of the Living God and He is your Father. Nothing they say is true if it doesn’t line up with what He says, so refuse to accept it. I have included a list of what the Bible and God say about His children and I get up every morning and read this list out loud to myself and the devil. See, when you read it out loud you are reminding the devil about what Jesus says about you and you will build your faith because you will hear yourself proclaiming His thoughts for you.

Remember that “If God be for us WHO can be against us” and “All His promises are yes and amen.” Scientifically there is no such thing as darkness only the absence of light. So when it seems that the darkness is getting darker it only means that your light can be brighter. I would suggest that you print out this list and repeat to yourself, (in front of a mirror) and stand on it against the attacks and words of the enemy.
